Dallesport WWTP

0.4 MGD Activated Sludge Process - Dallesport, WA

PROBLEMS

  • Algae growth in launder

  • Additional labor hours required for manual cleaning

  • Detrimental effects on effluent quality

SOLUTION & RESULTS

  • Worked with OEM partner to develop a launder cover system

  • Turnkey project included the recoating of the mechanism steel and the installation of a new drive unit

  • Improved effluent quality and elimination of manual cleaning

Tillamook, OR

PROBLEMS

  • Thickener that was aging and heavily-corroded

  • Significant scum loading and scum carry-over into effluent

  • Lack of overload protection on existing drive unit

SOLUTION & RESULTS

  • Performed equipment inspection and developed a recommendation report with cost estimates

  • Worked with OEM partner to design a new thickener which included:

    • Reuse and modification of the existing walkway structure

    • Improved skimming mechanism

    • New drive unit with higher torque loading

    • Load cell-style overload protection

    • VFD for fine-tuning of rake speed

  • Improved scum removal rate

  • Decreased scum carryover

  • Adjustable rake speed enabled plant to optimize sludge removal
